What is the real deal with Haliburton KBR jobs in Iraq?
I applied for a job as a mechanic supervisor for KBR in Iraq. I was offered a position as a mechanic, which was something that I did not apply for. I’m looking for any answers based on personal experience in the automotive field and being there. What is the pay, conditions, dangers, protection? I was told that there will be training in Houston for 10-14 days before going to Iraq. Fort Anaconda is the place where I will go to before deployment to where the need is.

All I can tell you is my husband was working as a mechanic in Iraq last year. The money was very good, the company was not. All lies. He now works in Afghanistan for KBR. The money is ok..not as good as was in Iraq. The working conditions are fair according to him. And yes, he did have to go to Houston for nearly two weeks for training…etc…
Everyone goes to Camp Anaconda whether they are coming in country or leaving country. It is sort of like a central processing place.
